Stormwater management plans for the City of Wyndham.

Council-ready Stormwater Management Plans for development across the Wyndham Planning Scheme area. Coastal flood overlay and Melbourne Water drainage scheme considerations handled end-to-end.

Council requirements

What the Wyndham Planning Scheme requires.

The Wyndham Planning Scheme adopts the Victorian Planning Provisions with local schedules. Stormwater is governed by Clause 56.07-4 for residential subdivisions and Clause 53.18 for non-subdivision development, both demonstrating compliance with EPA Publication 1739.1.

Wyndham sits inside the Melbourne Water Port Phillip and Westernport Drainage Schemes; subdivisions and many larger developments trigger Melbourne Water referral under Clause 66.04. The municipality also carries significant Land Subject to Inundation Overlay (LSIO) and Special Building Overlay (SBO) coverage near the coast and along the Werribee River — flood compatibility has to be demonstrated alongside stormwater compliance.

Local context

Western growth corridor and the coastal interface.

Wyndham is the fastest-growing municipality in Australia by population. Greenfield subdivisions in Tarneit, Truganina, and Point Cook sit firmly within Melbourne Water drainage scheme areas, so treatment train design coordinates with estate-scale wetlands and broader scheme drainage logic. The treatment approach is similar to the outer-growth examples in the Victorian WSUD guide.

Coastal and Werribee River sites carry LSIO and SBO overlays. Stormwater design has to be flood-compatible — finished-floor levels, outlet configurations, and detention storage all factor in to the assessment.
